Natasha Seatter makes history at Dubai Autodrome

In possibly the most exciting race since the start of this junior single seater series, 18 year old Natasha Seatter caught and passed Championship leader Joe Ghanem (Orient Racing) to win Round 10 of Formula Gulf 1000 setting fastest lap of the race in the process.
This was not only her first win in this hotly contested series but was also the first time a woman had won a National race in the UAE.
Round 9 had seen Seatter grabbing the lead into turn one only to be overtaken by Ghanem who held the lead until the end of the 12 lap race with FIA Academy driver Mohamed Al Mutawaa (Yas Marina Circuit) setting a blistering fastest lap of 1:39.813 to gain an extra championship point and second place. Seatter, who travels from Malaysia to compete in the series, was clearly not content with her third place podium finish. “I was annoyed with myself for making a couple of mistakes in the first race. So I decided to really focus on winning the second and try not to make mistakes. I had a fantastic drive and was able to finally put everything together that I had learned. Finally got into “the zone”. A terrific tussle, lots of focus and I took my chances. Elated, ecstatic and exhausted! ”.
