Zimbabwean Axcil Jefferies has pocketed additional points at this weekend's Formula Two race on the Hungaroring track in Budapest Hungary.

The weekend was not without it's fair share of ups and downs: having qualified 9th on Saturday morning, the afternoon race hit a titanic barrier before it could even begin. Axcil had been caught out in a mid-pack collision sparked by an over-ambitious move by Hector Hurst (GBR) right on the track's first corner merely seconds after the lights flashed green, seeing not only Axcil but David Zhu (CHN) taken out innocently.

Further misfortune came to drivers Markus Pommer (GER) who faced gear-box trouble with his car, and Matheo Tuscher who fell victim to Mihai Marinescu's (ROM) pressure. With five drivers knocked out in the early stages, the race still saw it's best man, Alex Fontana (SWI-GRE) win having qualified behind both Kevin Mirocha (POL) and Luciano Bacheta (GBR), these divers stealing second and third place respectively.

In what turned out to be a difficult qualifying session on Sunday morning, Axcil could only qualify 13th after encountering traffic on his two flying laps.

On the upside of this unfavourable outcome, Axcil was highly recognized for his positivity and competitive thirst, being the only driver to make a move and overtake not one but two drivers on the particularly windy track, which is notoriosly narrow making overtaking very difficult. Though Axcil finished in 10th position, his potential was ranked second to none and having now collected valuable experience with the cruel side of racing, he has risen with great maturity and realized his instinct for crisis management. With a better radar for risk-aversion, Axcil's confidence will prove valuable in the upcoming race in Monza.

Speaking from Hungary, Jefferies said "Even though I scored points again,on a new track; in a way I am a bit disappointed as finally I have the pace to finish on the podium. It has been a steep learning curve, but this past weekend I felt comfortable with the speed and everything just felt normal. From first practice I knew a podium could have been possible, but at this track it is all about qualifying.

In qualifying on my two flying laps I was caught up in traffic that should have moved over but didnt, so I lost a lot of time. Saturday was disappointing for me, with Hurst crashing into me and David Zhu ending our races. At least we could smile on sunday."

"Now my focus is on Monza in Italy for the final event of the season"

As always the polite Jefferies thanked all his supporters and is humble for the opportunity provided to him by his sponsor Afri - Hype.
